This starter kit contains 10 prefilled tubes each of 0.1mm, 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 1.5mm and 3.0mm diameter zirconium (ceramic) beads. Tubes are ready to use - beads are acid washed and heat treated and certified to be nuclease and protease free. Tubes are filled in a process tested by qPCR to be free of stray DNA. Suitable for use in most bead homogenizers including the BeadBug 3, BeadBug 6 and BeadBlaster 24.

Prefilled 2ml tubes contain an appropriate amount of 2.8mm diameter stainless steel beads for bead homogenization. Tubes are ready to use - beads are alcohol washed and heat treated to remove contaminants and render them nuclease and protease free. Suitable for homogenization of tough, hard samples, muscle, plant materials, seeds and dried samples . Supplied in packs of 50 tubes. Tubes are suitable for use in most bead homogenizers including the BeadBug 3, BeadBug 6 and BeadBlaster 24.

During operation, the suspended material is drawn into the core of the homogenizer by a rotor turning at up to 30,000rpm. The material is repeatedly cycled through narrow slits in the probe where it is rapidly sheared and disintegrated by high shear.
